Hayate the Combat Butler Ep01

Brand new series Hayate no Gotoku has started.

Nagi (Girl with twin tails) was cornered by a gigantic robot which threatened to harm her for all her wealth. She replied with 5 answer: Idoit,Idoit,Idoit,Idoit and Hayate.




This is when Hayate enter the sceen just before the robot blows her into pieces. The story reverts back to how Hayate become Nagi personal butler.




Hayate met santa one day and asked him why he did not give him any presents. Santa told him he was just too poor and to work hard for his future but even then he wont give him any presents. Believing in what santa told him, Hayate put all his effort into work so that one day he will have a better life.


Hayate was working as the fastest bicycle delivery personal and was on returning to office. He met with som eof his schoolmates who ask him why he does nothing but work all day. He told them he had absolutely no choice, his dad was always dreaming that one day he will get the perfect job, his mom always telling herself she was buying hope via lottery. Being the only sane person around he had to work.

When he returned to his office, his boss told him he was fired. The reason was because he reported a false age when doing his application and that his parents came to inform him about it. The boss told him that his pay was handed over to his parents. At that moment Hayate was shocked that he did that and ran all the way home. Hoping to salvage whatever amount that was left, he saw his pay envelope to only find 12 yen in it. His parents has spent all the money in a game a pachinko in hope to get back more money.


On the window he found a letter labeling "Present for Hayate from Dad". He opened up to only find that his parents once again has gambled out a large amount of debt and decided to sell him to the mafia to repay it. The next moment, a couple of men was knocking on his door and entered the room. They were here to pick him up for the payment promised by his dad. With no choice left, he jumped out of his roomed and escaped.


With no where to go and a large debt on hand, this was the worst chrismas eve he ever had. He felt that all the hardword is useless and decided the only way his going to survive to be a bad person afterall. Just at that moment he saw a girl trying to buy some drinks but could not understand why it doesnt accepts credit card. At that moment he decided to kidnap her and blackmail her family for the money. It was at this time 2 thugs came along and wanted to take her away. On impulse, he rushed out and punched one of them. The girl thank him and introduced herself as Nagi. Hayate then told her his going to take her away but the way he said it seems like a proposal to elope with him. Nagi suddenly felt all embarressed and agreed on the condition he will never betray her. Hayate then asked for her number which she gave to him and told her to wait here for him.

Hayate went to the nearest phone booth and dailed the number only to tell the person his name out of habit. Now that his plan to kidnap is no longer possible he gaved up and just lied that on the ground.

Suddenly a girl voice was calling to him. He looked up to see this pretty lady asking if his ok. She then took out her scalf and gave it to him. This is when he felt that the world isnt that bad afterall and all that he did was a mistake. It was then they heard Nagi shouting at 2 person trying to drag her into the car. The lady started to panic seeing Nagi being kidnapped again. Hayate then borrowed the bicycle that she was using just and told her that he will save Nagi.

In the car, Nagi started insulting her kidnappers. She told them that they were polluting the air and to stop breathing. The kidnappers were furious and told her that no one will be able to save her on the road. She said there was but the kidnappers assured her that no one will. The kidnappers tried to keep her shut and it was then Nagi called out for Hayate.


Suddenly a bicycle flew out from the back of the speeding vehicle. It stopped and turned around and at that moment, Hayate who was on the bicycle, told the car to stop. The kidnappers being taken by surprise on how a bicycle could have overtaken them just rammed him flying into the air. Hayate felt that he was almost dead at that point but his inner self tell him that he still has many things to do. He regained his concious and landed striaght on the car.


With blood flowing out of his wounds , he asked the kidnappers if they will be able to return Nagi to him. The kidnappers were surprised and fearfully agreed to his request.


Maria manage to contact the police and Nagi was saved. She asked Nagi why was she wearing the old coat and Nagi told him it was given to her by her savior and that she have agreed to help him on his request. The request was to give Hayate a new job and Nagi decided to make him her personal butler.

This ends my first anime episode preview. Hayate the combat butler is a fantastic anime with alot of comedy in it. Picked it up while it was still a manga, the anime follows quite close to the original story with some added spice. Some parts were removed which could have made the story more obvious at the start but I guess it will filled out later in the anime. So for now enjoy this show.
